Solar PV Generation

High-efficiency monocrystalline PV modules, mounted on fixed-tilt or single-axis tracking systems, supported by central or string inverters and step-up transformers.

Battery Energy Storage

Integrated lithium-ion BESS of 40–60MWh mitigates the intermittency of solar generation and provides firm capacity that stabilises the grid.

Flagship Project

Muchenje Solar PV Plant

A 20MWp grid-connected facility located in the Chieftainess Mungule area, Chibombo District, Central Province, on a 41-hectare parcel held under a 99-year leasehold title owned by the sponsors. The flat topography minimises civil works costs and eases construction of the 33kV evacuation line, while the region's solar yield of approximately 5.5–6.0 kWh/m²/day ensures strong generation potential.

How We Work

From site to power purchase agreement

Secure land & grid access

41 hectares held under a 99-year leasehold title, strategically located near a new ZESCO 33/11kV substation for efficient grid integration.

Design & engineering

High-efficiency monocrystalline modules on fixed-tilt or single-axis tracking systems, sized to the site's solar yield of 5.5–6.0 kWh/m²/day.

Storage integration

A 40–60MWh lithium-ion BESS is integrated to firm up output and support grid stability, enabling dispatchable renewable power.

Construction & grid connection

An 8.2km overhead 33kV line evacuates power to the national grid, benchmarked against similar IPP projects in the region.

Consistent renewable output over a 25-year design life, reducing Zambia's carbon footprint and enhancing grid stability.

Strategic Rationale

Aligned with national policy and global goals

Zambia's electricity sector relies on hydropower for roughly 85% of generation, leaving the country exposed to drought-driven load shedding. Government reforms now open the sector to Independent Power Producers, and the Muchenje Solar PV Plant is positioned to take advantage.
